The Richmond/Ermet Aid Foundation (REAF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts and health organization supporting AIDS services, hunger programs, and underserved youth in the San Francisco Bay Area and Palm Springs/Coachella Valley through high-quality entertainment events that raise vital funds and strengthen community awareness and engagement.
Expanded Palm Springs Programs
REAF was founded in the San Francisco Bay Area and produced a series of entertainments there to support our cause but has expanded our programs to include new programs in the Palm Springs/Coachella Valley area.
The Richmond/Ermet Aid Foundation
REAF’s founders, the late Barbara Richmond and Peggy Ermet, envisioned a world without AIDS when they created this agency. REAF’s focus has always been, and continues to be, to support AIDS services until there is a cure. With recent advancements in HIV treatments and promising research for a cure, however, REAF has expanded our focus areas of what we support also supports programs that provide food for the needy and programs that support homeless and disenfranchised youth in addition to continued funding for HIV programs in the SF Bay Area and our Small Emergency Grants Program.
The Overview
The Richmond/Ermet Aid Foundation (REAF) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that raises funds through high-quality entertainment events and provides grants to local community organizations. Its focus areas include HIV/AIDS services, hunger programs, and support for homeless and disenfranchised youth and seniors. REAF has contributed well over $4 million in funding, with 100% of ticket proceeds going directly to beneficiary agencies.

Cathedral City Senior Center
The Bent, Palm Springs' only LGBTQ+ theater, was just a few months old and surviving on sweat and hope when REAF selected us to be the beneficiary of one of their fabulous fundraising parties. The support we received from that event put us on solid financial ground for the first time and gave us the means to purchase rights to a whole season of plays. We are forever grateful!

The support from REAF has been so greatly appreciated and it also has made great impact. The mental health needs of Oak Grove Sanctuary Clients are such that they require ongoing therapy. Funds from REAF helped provide hours from a psychologist that specializes in treating the LGBTQ+ population. We so appreciate the opportunities provided through the generosity of the supporters that attended the REAF party benefiting Sanctuary PS. The Richmond/Ermet Aid Foundation, for which I have volunteered for parties several times, is so amazing. Founded in 1994, they help all kinds of people with medical, dental, mental and practical needs as well as hunger and homelessness in our community. I never expected they would help me. A huge thanks to Joe Seiler and Ken Henderson for coming-up to me at Oscar's one day and offering to help. There are so many good people here, so many dear friends.
